Resilmount A237 Sound Isolation Clip
The Resilmount A237 is a direct fix sound isolation clip. It carries a furring channel away from the studs or joists so the new drywall layer is no longer rigidly connected to the structure, which is what stops sound moving through the frame.

Resilmount A237
A wall or ceiling transmits sound partly through the air cavity and partly through the framing itself. Adding mass alone does not solve the second path. The A237 breaks that path by holding the furring channel on a rubber element instead of screwing it directly to the stud.
Design
The clip uses a patented thermoplastic rubber with a sound cell structure that absorbs and breaks up airborne energy. A strong column design keeps the contact area with the building structure small while carrying the load, and a quarter inch hole accepts a range of fasteners.
Where we use it
This is the clip we reach for most on wall and ceiling retrofits where the room is occupied and the existing framing has to stay in place.
