Acoustical Sealant Box of 4 Tubes
Acoustical sealant is a permanently flexible, non hardening sealant used to close every gap in a soundproofing assembly. Box of four tubes.

Acoustical Sealant : 1 Box:4 tubes
A wall built to a high specification will underperform badly if the perimeter is open. Sound behaves like air in this respect: a small continuous gap along a floor line can undo a large part of the improvement the rest of the assembly provides.
Where it goes
Along the floor and ceiling lines, around the perimeter of each drywall sheet, around electrical boxes and any penetration, and at every joint where two different materials meet.
Why not standard caulk
Ordinary decorating caulk hardens as it cures. Once it is rigid it transmits vibration across the joint and it cracks as the building moves, reopening the gap. Acoustical sealant stays flexible so the seal survives.

Worth knowing. This is the cheapest material in the assembly and the one most often left out. On every project we treat sealing as part of the system rather than a finishing detail.
